We advise on promotions and incentives to increase sales and to enhance our image in the minds of the sales people. We work with our vendors to maximize their advertising budgets in the most effective way possible to increase their return on investment. The standard advertising budget is typically based on a % of sales allocated towards co-op on a 50:50 basis for local publications throughout the islands. Once we reach a certain sales volume we guide our vendors on the benefits of “international” cruise ship advertising. This venue allows the vendor to strategically reach the consumer through a multi-media campaign onboard the cruise ships which includes calls to action for immediate sales in the islands, but also benefits their existing US campaigns as the majority of impressions are seen by US customers.

Because of our portfolio of brands, we are able to negotiate substantially discounted rates for our vendors. Additionally we monitor and manage these interactive advertising campaigns for our vendors to measure and maximize the return on investment. This is done through a combination of the following tools:

  • Setting up a script with the promotional company to enforce the brand’s identity and give a call to action to the consumer to purchase.
  • Advising on display pieces to go onboard the ships.
  • Monitor monthly sales reports by ship of the vendor in order to gauge the effectiveness of the campaign.
  • Meet monthly with the promotional companies to advise on the performance levels, and work strategically to increase productivity on the ships that are not performing.

We strategically place vendors to maximize exposure and create distinctive branded environments.

Each account undergoes a thorough analysis to ensure that they are the right fit for each individual vendor. The account’s credibility will be judged by the brands that they carry, where the vendor will be placed in location to those brands, and the commitment the account is willing to give to the vendor.

One of the strengths of Duty Free Distributors comes from our proven ability to merchandise, and to maximize exposure and advertising throughout the retail locations. Each account is given premium displays, collateral, duratrans, and any additional visual aids – provided by the vendor – to create their distinctive branded environment. We work closely with our vendors to advise on such displays and advertising to their individual specifications, when needed.

Where possible, we take customized measurements for displays. Additionally, we obtain duratran space and advertising support in virtually all locations. We also aggressively pursue the building of Shop-in-Shops where possible.

We work closely with our vendors to assist in managing their payables.

We work closely with our vendors to assist in managing their payables. We receive monthly reports and call the accounts to con rm that payment will be made. Because of our long-standing relationships with our accounts, as well as our variety of brands that we supply them, we are very important to our retailers and we typically do not have trouble collecting payment.

Additionally – we work only with the top accounts in each island. Our accounts are the Rolex, Cartier, Yurman and luxury goods dealers. They have long-standing history in the islands and have well established relationships with their vendors.
